JST Maximizer is the only plugin you need on your mix bus.

With a variety of maximization modes, bass-specific processing, controls for mid-side/stereo manipulation, and up to 16x oversampling, JST Maximizer is a feature-rich, all-in-one solution for your mastering needs. Whether you’re a music creator, producer/mixer, or even a professional mastering engineer - JST Maximizer is the only plugin you’ll need on your mix bus for fast and intuitive finalization of your mix.

JST Maximizer features more than a dozen ways to finalize your mix including:

  • Clippers
  • Limiters
  • Maximizers

Within each category, you’ll have the ability to select between standard operating modes, modes dedicated to specific solutions, and even multi-band functionality. Maximizer goes a step further by including Multi-Stage, Smart & ARC modes in the Maximizers category for some of the most intelligent processing offered in a mastering plugin solution.

Hear the 'gain-matched examples' in action below:

You’ve probably heard someone say “Don’t mix with your eyes.” And while that’s often true, sometimes there’s stuff happening in your mix, in your plugins, across the frequency spectrum that you’re just not hearing. Visualization is at the core of every great master bus processor and JST Maximizer is no exception. In the plugin’s interface, you’re able to toggle between a Waveform View and a Spectrum View to see how the plugin is affecting your audio in real-time, and other Spatial Visualizers.

Want to push your mix dynamics a bit harder? Flip over to the Waveform View and pull down your threshold so no dynamic range goes to waste.

Would you rather see the balance of your mix? The Spectrum View reacts to tonal changes you make in JST Maximizer so you can easily see if your bass is overpowering your mids & top-end and adjust accordingly.

Looking for even more visual tools? Additional stereo field visualizers are also available (Polar Sample, Polar Level and Lissajous), allowing you to analyze your audio, to see how it compares from left to right - checking for mono compatibility and spectral uniformity, amplitude and phase coherency.

The real power of JST Maximizer comes from the 20+ controls provided in the plugin that impact every aspect of your mix from EQ to multiband compression to saturation and everything in between. We break these controls into 4 sections:

Dynamics & EQ

Mastering requires a particular set of features that aren’t commonly found in stock plugins for things like compression and equalization. When working with a single source, you don’t often have to worry about things like bass enhancement (outside of your bass track). For mastering, it’s a key piece of the process.

JST Maximizer offers bass-focused compression controls with an adjustable crossover, bass enhancements, and the ability to keep bass mono below a certain frequency. When paired with tonal controls and harmonic saturation/excitement, there’s a lot of power at your fingertips when working with dynamics in JST Maximizer.

With built-in dynamic monitoring, you’ll even get an intuitive display describing the dynamic range of your music in near real-time.

In / Out / Mix

While levels can be an afterthought for many plugin manufacturers, we took extra special care to develop a powerful In/Out/Mix section for JST Maximizer. Engineers can manually set their input/output levels or rely on JST Maximizer’s learning algorithm to automatically set the input based on the signal it’s fed. From there, they’re able to blend the processed and unprocessed signal with a Mix knob and our all-new delta monitoring - a unique monitoring control allowing you to hear the differences between your wet and dry signal. Think of it like a built-in null test for the plugin!

As an added bonus, JST Maximizer also allows users to toggle between stereo and mono output without ever leaving the plugin! Quickly check how your audio sounds when summed to mono to ensure your mixes translate on smaller devices and single-speaker playback systems.

Stereo Enhancements

JST Maximizer even includes controls for Mid-Side Balance and Stereo Enhancement - letting you further manipulate the space and width of your mix. Make your mix sound more upfront or wider with more control and precision than ever before!

Global Controls

With global controls, you are truly able to unlock the full potential of JST Maximizer. The list includes:

  • 2x, 4x, 8x, or 16x Oversampling
  • 8-bit, 12-bit, 16-bit, 20-bit, or 24-bit Dithering
  • Optional DC Offset Filter
  • Character Controls
  • Auto-Trim, and more!

Monitoring All Above

A mastering plugin is only as effective as its capabilities in the monitoring space. Engineers need to be able to see what their levels are doing and how they’re doing it, which is why the monitoring within JST Maximizer is such an essential feature.

We’ve included 4 high-resolution stereo Peak Program Meters (PPMs) in JST Maximizer:

  • Input
  • Gain Reduction
  • Peak
  • LUFS

LUFS metering is especially important, as it shows engineers how their loudness compares to their audio at full scale - leading to improved normalization decision making. This meter can be toggled between Integrated, Short-Term, and Momentary measurement modes for even more accuracy and detail.

Unique to JST Maximizer is a first-of-its-kind source target & match system that allows you to match your audio levels to target LUFS values for major platforms, including:

  • Spotify
  • Apple Music
  • Amazon Music
  • YouTube
  • Deezer
  • CD
  • SoundCloud
  • Bandcamp
  • Tidal

It’s never been easier to match your masters to the biggest platforms in the industry!

Let’s take a look at how JST Maximizer can simplify your workflow in 3 steps by:

  1. OPTIMIZING the input level
  2. MAXIMIZING results by checking the dynamics
  3. MATCHING loudness target

Step 1 : Optimize

The level at which your audio enters the plugin is super important and can affect the way the various algorithms interact with your material. Optimizing your input signal on the way in ensures it will reach the nominal gain level and enables every feature in the plugin to operate at peak performance.

Nominal input gain can be achieved with JST Maximizer’s Optimize functionality.

Step 2 : Maximize

Improving loudness is not about increasing volume - it’s about controlling perceived volume without distorting the mix. Using the built in dynamic display, you’ll easily be able to find the point at which your mix achieves maximum loudness without sacrificing dynamic quality or character.

Step 3: Matching

For commercially viable results, you need to make sure your audio is competitive in the market, and there’s no better way to achieve this than targeting loudness standards for the largest streaming platforms in the industry. Simply select a target platform of your choice and JST Maximizer will match your audio to the target LUFS specified by that format or service.

There’s never been such a straightforward click-and-choose solution to such a key part of the mastering process like this.

Huge effect on sounds, easy to dial in

I have really enjoyed using Maximizer. Has so many different parameters to control and they all have a huge impact on the sounds theyre supposed to effect. I like the targets and the view tells you if the mix is dynamic, loud, comoetitive, crushed, etc. Very nkce and well worth the price. Im glad I got it.

Next level. It's great.

Now I can master songs with out distortion and still a dynamic lively master.

Takes a little learning, but has useful controls.

For a quick master, I usually use BX Masterdesk. Compared with the JST Maximiser, they both have tools I like that the other doesn't have.

The maximiser does have more of a learning curve, and I have found you need to be more careful with the mix before hand, or run a more controlling compressor before hand, otherwise it will distort.

It's best to ignore the "Optimize" feature.

I like the multiband clipper on the drum bus.

Overall, easy to use once you get the hang of it, and great for controlling drums.

Better Than the Rest (mostly)

JST Maximizer lives up the hype, as far as I'm concerned. The saturation, bass emphasis, stereo widening, and tilt EQ are great additions to the clipping/limiting/maximizing section that is the focal point of the plugin. The interface is intuitive, user friendly, and simple, and the plugin delivers on all the promises it makes.
I would love to have offline oversampling as an option to keep latency down when using this for tracking, as I use this as a track/bus clipper frequently, and also wish it had an option for it to clip into the limiter section.

A lot to learn

So....I love JST. And it usually takes me no time at all to fiddle with something to start to understand how it works and how to use it.
The Maximizer though is a bit different. For me anyway. I'm in the middle of mixing and mastering my album. I had my mixes all dialed in using my other chain. EQ, Clipper, Fab Pro L2....etc...
This thing had my mixes all over the place. It showed me how much I still have to learn. A little bit of Maximizer goes a very long way. I tried looking for tutorial videos that really get in-depth with it......but all I found were the advertisement videos that just skim the surface.
Dont get me wrong.......this is an awesome plug-in. I just need to take some time to get through the learning curve.
