With Toneforge DI Match, you’ll unlock virtually endless tonal options for your guitar & bass tracks at the source - before they ever hit an amp.
About DI Match Technology
DI Match Technology is a proprietary solution that analyzes and manipulates DI signals. It consists of three digital signal processing techniques: Spectral Matching, Level Matching, and Active Pickup Circuit Simulation. These techniques shape the DI sound at the source, allowing users to achieve the desired tone.
Capture the frequency curve and sonic imprint of your instrument in seconds with Toneforge DI Match’s spectral matching. As you play your guitar or bass, the software automatically adjusts the curve until it reaches its optimal state.
Once captured, your DI can be matched to any other DI profile captured or imported into Toneforge DI Match. Get started with one of the included DI profiles from industry leading artists, producers, and the JST team, as well as pink & white noise captures for smoothing.
Once you have matched your Spectral Image to taste, the next often overlooked step that can make or break a tone from the start is achieving nominal gain. Nominal gain is when your volume hits that perfect sweet spot of the amp and other components in the tone. This is where Level Matching comes in. Adjust it to taste, or set it to 100% to match the targeted profile DI profile one to one. It is especially handy when matching a DI to something that has "hotter" pickups.
The Active Pickup Circuit Simulator simulates a real active pickup and allows you to add gain to your DI signal, even if your source is passive! Engage the Active Circuit button and explore the rich tones of an active pickup's internal preamp. You can push your limits even more by using the Gain Knob to give your sound an aggressive and dynamic edge.
With the advanced features of Toneforge DI Match, precision and artistry are at your fingertips.

Adding more traditional vintage models would make this plugin even more powerful.
This is a compelling product that truly helps me get closer to the tones I’m aiming for. It’s also quite valuable as a way to study guitars and pickups; I feel like it was a great purchase.
If I had one wish, I’d love to see more vintage tones that aren't specifically tailored for metal. While others have pointed out the lack of Jazzmasters and Jaguars, I’m personally hoping for 4-string Jazz Bass and Precision Bass tones as well.
I really hope these will be added in future updates or released as a separate expansion pack.

An Absolute must Have.
I have a 96 Jackson sl-1 USA with Seymour Duncan JB's, that needs some work on it. But with this DI match up I'm telling you it tightens those chugs and heightens the pickups. I don't push the spectral matching to much. But Do about 40% with level matching. For me this is a must for what i play which is Fear Factory to Killswitch to The Browning, Unearth, Parkway Drive etc, you get the drift. It just gives that cut and nice tightness specially if using maxxon 808 plugin Jeff Loomis. All in all its a must for me and I'm glad they have this type of plugin. It does wonders!

A bit of a life-saver
One of the things I've always struggled with is recording a good guitar tone, and this nifty little device has really made things so much better - I actually now have amp sim tones that sound like the ones in the videos.
My only slight quibble is the presets - there's a lot of hard rock and metal, and only a couple of instances where the actual guitar is named. It'd be nice to have a wider range of guitars. Also, there aren't many bass tones, and those that there are just made my bass sound like a hard rock bass. But I'm still giving it 5 stars for the difference it's made to my guitar recording.

Great addition for every producer dealing with guitar recordings
When I first read about DI Match, I was hesitant, because too many plugins are not living up to their promises. However DI Match totally delivers and is a bargain price-wise. As a producer it is important to adjust the recorded guitars to the songs and when everything is done remote, there is hardly a chance for the guitarist to try different guitars, settings etc. DI Match helps to dial in what is needed to make a track stand out. Highly recommended!

Too much aliasing
I bought it but after trying it out for a few hours I cam to the conclusion that there are too many artifacts that cause aliasing as well as phase issues. I can't really use it. Would be nice if they had it categorized neatly by guitar type. I really don't care who made the preset.
